How is the Active different from the PRO or Straw filter?
The key difference between the ACTIVE Filtration Bottle vs. the Survivor Filter PRO, Electric PRO X and Straw filters is the filtration removal of chemicals, heavy metals and VOC's.
The ACTIVE Filtration Bottle is designed to remove 99.9% of toxic chemicals, chlorine, VOC's, pesticides, herbicides, chlorides, pharmaceuticals, and contaminants found in municipal city tap water, while leaving essential minerals such as calcium, magnesium and potassium.

Is it ready to use out of the box?
Follow these steps to ensure your Active Bottle and Filter is ready for it's first use.
To prime a new filter for the first time or replacing a used filter: Prime it by flushing clean water twice through the bottle and filter before first use. This will remove any carbon debris and unpleasant taste in the new filter.
Your new filter is ready to use!
When do I change the filter?
The Active Replacement Filter has a 100 Gallon (426 refills) lifespan before it needs be replaced.
As a general rule, when you start to notice that the flow rate is slower than usual, the water filtered does not look clear, taste clean or has an odor, the filter should be replaced.
What is up with the leaking?
The Active Bottle is a soft squeeze bottle so it is easy to set the filter in wrong and cause leaks while drinking.
Ensure your filter is seated on the lid right: Remove the filter and re-seat it back onto the bottle. It should seal itself onto the lip.
How do I clean the Active Bottle?
The Active Bottle is very easy to maintain for years of continued use!
Daily Use? We recommend disassembling the lid, bottle and filter and allowing it to air dry thoroughly before next use.
Long Term Storage? If you aren't using the Active Bottle for an extended period, follow these steps below:
Pour clean water into the bottle, securely press down the filter back in place with the lid and squeeze water through the bottle. Repeat twice to flush out any particles from the filter.
Disassemble and remove the filter. Clean the bottle and lid with a 1:1 ratio of vinegar/water solution.
Once the bottle has been flushed with the vinegar/water solution, allow all components to air dry thoroughly before storing.
Do not clean the filter element with anything other than water.
Do not allow the filter element to freeze.
Do not use hot water with the Active Bottle.
What Is The Flow Rate On The Bottle?
The Active Filtration Bottle super-fast flow rate of 2L (67 ounces) per minute or 30 seconds for 900mL (bottle capacity).
A slow flowing filter can become frustrating when used for extended periods of time. When water flow through the Active Filter becomes reduced, then it’s time to remove the Filter for replacement.
What Is The Shelf Life Of The Active Filtration Bottle?
The Active Filtration Bottle and Replacement Filters have a 50-year shelf life if unused. It is also best to ensure that every piece of your Active Filtration Bottle is dry before putting away for long-term storage.
What is the micron rating on the ACTIVE Filtration Bottle?
The Active Filtration Bottle is an absorbing filter with a carbon nano ionic adsorption media instead of a membrane filter, so it doesn't use Microns. However, it has been tested to NSF Standards 42 and 53 and meets EPA Water Drinking Standards.
